This filter is located directly between the dust bin assembly and the motor assembly, this filter is recommended to be washed at least once every 30 days, and replaced after 6-8 washings to ensure peak performance of your Dyson hand vacuum and stick vacuum. This filter protects any large debris from entering the motor, and gets clogged with fine dust and other particles which over time clog the filter, causing the motor to work harder, and run hotter.
